There are 6 "races" of Gods in this world.  The Tavri, Divri, Silvri, Quitri, Katri, and Demori.  The Gods don't specifically follow any assigned alignment, and all have worshippers of all sorts.  They believe in obtaining a balance.  The Demori (the demon gods) have been banished from the world, for trying to upset this balance and take over the world in their name.

Each race consists of an Elder God, Lesser Gods, and Demi Gods.  The Elder God generally only has a few special chosen priests, though many may worship them.  The Lesser Gods are the more commonly worshipped gods having followers of all types.  The Demi Gods generally do not have any worshippers.  The Demi Gods are the children of the Elder and Lesser Gods.  The Demi Gods are immortal beings with no special godlike powers that generally choose to walk the mortal planes and participate in life as a normal being.  If a Demi God is "killed" they are banished back to the immortal planes for 100 years before they can again return to the mortal lands.

The Tavri are generally associated with the arts of healing, holy war, kindness, love, and peace.  As in all things, these pursuits can be twisted into evil, and some of the Tavri gods have such followers as well.  The Elder Goddess of the Tavri is known as Doria.  Her daughter, Lesleva, is a lesser Goddess.

The Divri follow the path of nature.  Druids, Animals, Forests, Elves are some of the things commonly put hand in hand with the Divri.  Elvyiri is the Elder Goddess of the Divri and her consort, Alaan is a Lesser God.

The Silvri are gods of magic, dragons, fairy, and denizens of the water, such as merfolk.  Bards and Wizards commonly follow the ways of the Silvri.  Crysteria is the Elder Goddess of the Silvri.

The Quitri are gods of the earth, mountains, fire, and vengeance.  Dwarves, Giants, and Goblins are the most common worshippers of the Quitri.  The Elder God is called Korkoptor.

The Katri dwell in the darkness.  They are commonly associated with assassins, thieves, necromancy, disease, and  death. On the opposing side those who follow stealthful arts such as the Ninja or a Good aligned bounty hunter might also follow the Katri. Dark Elves, some humans, and dwarves follow the Katri.  The Elder Goddess of the Katri is Tabaea.

The Demori are the demon gods. Before being banished, they were the gods of lust, war, demonologists, infernals,  and hate.  They were banished for trying to fully turn the balance into pure evil and force all living creatures to follow their way or perish.  They wanted to set the world into chaos and flame.  The Elder God of Demori is Zyrtoric.

It is near impossible for a fully mortal being to become a God.  Such things are frowned upon by the true Gods. Being so long lived as to be the next thing to immortal is generally allowed, as long as one does not twist the balance.  There are only 2 cases in history of a mortal ever achieving Lesser God status.  The Elven Bard Aorial  and the Human Assassin Kortaab.
